Sherwin Cox

DOB: October 20, 1950

Sherwin has been a PGA member since 1976.  He began his golf career in 1971 as an Assistant Golf Professional at Pampa Country Club then moved to Amarillo in 1976 to work at Tascosa Country Club also as an Assistant.   In 1980 he took the Head Professional position at Canyon Country Club before moving to Ross Rogers Golf Course January 1, 1981. Sherwin has completed 31 years of service to the City of Amarillo and the Amarillo Area golfing public.  He has worked closely with  Amarillo PGA Professionals, the media, tournament sponsors and amateurs to establish one of the strongest Amateur Tournament Programs in the country.   Sherwin has been actively involved in the PGA for the past 36 years and has attended 24 National PGA Annual Meetings as a delegate. He along with Royal Oaks Country Club Professional Randy Smith of Dallas provided the influence behind the PGA of America establishing a National Junior Tour in 1996 that resulted in Sherwin being named National Junior Golf Leader.

James Stow
Golf Course Superintendent

DOB:  September 10, 1982

James began his golf course maintenance career at the age of 13 at Oldham County Club and then as a seasonal worker at John Pitman in Hereford while in high school.  He knew then that a Golf Course Superintendent was his career choice due to a love for the game and the reward of participating in the maintenance and detail of a golf course operation.  Out of high school James went to Arizona and was hired as a spray tech /foreman at a 36 hole facility Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club.  During his time there he participated in preparing for Senior Tour major and the Senior Slam.  While he was in Arizona he began his education in Professional Golf Turf Management from Rutgers University.    James has been a golf course Superintendent ever since with most of his stint being in the Phoenix, Az.  During his career as a Superintendent he has provided high-quality playing surfaces to a wide spectrum of golf enthusiasts including daily fee guests as well as ultra high-end private memberships.  James has been married to his high school sweetheart (Tessa) since 2001.  They have 2 beautiful children Taytum (daughter) and Kyler (son).  He has been with the City of Amarillo @ Ross Rogers since February of 2011.
